INDIA: Digital services company Trolex Aporta is to supply its Juxta closed-network infotainment package for Northern Railway?s New Delhi ? Habibganj Shatabdi Express services.
Passengers will be able to stream entertainment and news directly to mobile devices using a secure local wi-fi network, without buffering and without needing a connection to the public network.
?We are excited to begin rolling out Juxta after a series of successful trials in India?, said Glyn Jones, Group CEO of Trolex Aporta, on September 28. ?We are hoping that this partnership will prove to the transport market that these passenger experiences are available now, they don?t cost the earth to implement, are extremely reliable and always well received by passengers.?
Jones said Juxta provides rail operators with opportunities to create additional revenue streams such as premium content, luggage alert systems, at-seat ordering and seat reservation systems.
